Sir,

With reference to your recent appearance before the Selection Committee at this Department, I have to inform you that you have passed successfully for entry into the Royal Naval Air Service for Duty as an Aeroplane Pilot. At the same time, however, it is desired to point out to you that , owing to the exigenccies of the Service, it will not be possible to appoint you to an R.N.A.S. School in order that you may commence your training, for some weeks to come. A further communication will be made to you, however , giving one clear week's notice of the date on which you will be required to join for duty and procure your uniform. You should not procure uniform until you receive definitive instructions to do so.

In the event of your receiving any "calling up" notice from the Recruiting Authorities, it should be forwarded to this Department, when it will be dealt with direct.

I am , Sir,

Your obefient servant,

for Director of Air Services
