The quartermaster sergeant is a chap I know quite well but he can’t do anything for any of us = he can only tell us to try to get them privately and that’s bad enough. Its very difficult to go without as it means that Sgt Cook, Lowett and I have to share one pair and if Cook happens to be flying we have to do without and in any case, as I said he will soon be going to Turnbury. Its really the limit as they should certainly supply them but they won’t say they Can’t so will you try and get them in town? They are Triplex Safety glass “ goggles and are made specially for aviators with leather frame and fur lined very necessary in this weather and at high altitude. The air force standard ones are marked like this: Goggle Mask Flying Mark I Triplex Goggle Mask and Lens Co Ltd A The London depot is at 1 Albemarle St Piccadilly.
