| With reference to your application for a commission in the Royal Naval Air Service, I have to request you to attend the selection Committee which will be held at this department on Monday Feb 11th at 10:30 am. It should be clealry understood that this communication does not exempt you from Military Service, and no alteration can be made in the date of your acceptance before the Selection Committee. If you receive instructions to join H.M.Army before the above date , you should inform the army Recruiting Officer and produce this letter which will ensure you the necessary facilities for attending the Committee. Should you wish to withdraw you application in the meantime, it is requested that this Department be notified. Your Birth Certificate is returned herewith having been duly noted. Candidates for Commission in the Royal Naval Air Service are requested to note that any expense they may incur in coming before the selection Committee are NOT payable by the Government, and that travelling expenses of Officers proceeding to take up their I am sir Your obedient Servant For Director of Air Services |
