Darling Mother,

Thanks very much for letter, I was certainly surprised to hear from you. Please don’t send anything to Cook – remember I’m a sergeant and he is no less a person than Flight Camp Commander and would therefore very much resent being treated like a Sunday school teacher. As a matter of fact he has given up instruction as with his duties he hasn’t time so I have got a new man a Canadian Captain (always have captains!!!) who is even more amiable but his voice is chronic through telephone!

Don’t send Jowett anything either as he doesn’t know You and moreover doesn’t smoke much except pipes. By the way, can you get me some “Three Castles “ tobacco (noy fags, although them as well if possible) Muust hurry now to post but will write longer letter in answer on Sun.

Tons of love and kisses

your loving son Dudley
